Urbandale dropped its season opener on Friday night 24-9 against Waukee.

The J-Hawks fell behind 17-0 in the first half before Tavien Gardner scored on a 24 yard TD run.  The PAT by Ethan Kiehne was good.

Turner Ellis sacked the Waukee ball carrier in the third quarter for the other two J-Hawk points.

Urbandale travels to Valley Stadium on September 2 to face the Maroons of Dowling Catholic at 7:00pm.
