On Saturday, October 19, 2013, the 165-member Urbandale J-Hawk Marching Band, capped off another great season with their 30th consecutive Division-I rating at the Iowa High School Music Association’s state-wide marching contest. Urbandale performed among 22 visiting bands at the site hosted by Waukee High School.
The J-Hawk Band performed a collection of famous melodies from
the great American Songbook including the titles: My Way, It
Had Better Be Tonight, Fever, Sway, and Orange Colored
Sky. Featured musicians included soloists Michaela
Gyure, Liam Fraser, Brian Carrier, Jerry Richards, Art Thanupakorn,
Tad Guy, and Steve Maynard.
