On February 20, 2016, Urbandale High School Instrumental Music Department entered 138 events into the Perry Band Olympics Solo & Small Ensemble Contest. 

 

Performing alongside students from across the state of Iowa, Urbandale’s students earned 80 Division-I ratings.

 

The following students were further highlighted against nearly 1000 other entries with these “podium finishes” within their respective categories:

 

Jordan Thomas: 1st Place, 11-12 Trombone Solo

Robert Muller: 1st Place, 11-12 Tuba Solo

Marin Vidovic and Tyler Gajewsky: 1st Place, 11-12 Brass Duet

Kelsi Riley, Noah Torstenson, Joel Andrews, Sasha Fetty, and Jonah Guy: 1st Place, 11-12 Woodwind Quintet

Amanda Brown and Sydney Hartman: 1st Place, 9-10 Woodwind Duet

Mikayla Zmolek and Brooke Dannenfeldt: 1st Place, 9-10 Brass Duet

Roxanne Kadoun: 1st Place, 11-12 Flute Solo

Sera Veeder: 1st Place, 9-10 Horn Solo

Joel Andrews: 1st Place, 11-12 Horn Solo

Sophi Wilker: 2nd Place, 9-10 Alto Sax Solo

Tom Plank: 2nd Place, 11-12 Bari Sax Solo

Brittany Schultz: 2nd Place, 11-12 Horn Solo
