On Saturday, May 7, 2016, the Urbandale High School Wind Symphony competed at the Iowa High School Music Association’s State Large Group Contest earning its 24th Division-I rating in 25 years. Urbandale performed among 15 visiting bands at the site hosted by Johnston High School.
During the spring semester of 2016, the Urbandale High School Wind Symphony performed 3 programs across 6 concerts. On May 11, 2016 they will present a clinic session at the Iowa Bandmasters Association Conference in Des Moines, Iowa.
