Urbandale High School (UHS) students Ethan Holub, trumpet; Alec Albrecht, trombone; Reed Andrews, percussion; Anne Gage, euphonium; Katherine Koele, flute; Erin Valle, clarinet; Sera Veeder, horn participated in the South Central Iowa Bandmasters Association (SCIBA) High School Honor Band on January 6, 2018 at Ankeny High School with quest conductors Dr. Curran Prendergast from Truman State University and Mr. Steve Stickney from Mount Mercy University.

The students earned the opportunity through a highly competitive audition process.

“These students are to be commended for their hard work and tenacity throughout the preparation process.” said Myron Peterson, director of bands at Urbandale High School.  “They competed along side nearly 600 students from 51 different schools to earn an invitation to perform in this honor band, and the audition material is truly challenging at every level.”

These students will be performing as part of the UHS band in concerts in January 11, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. and January 18, 2018 at 7:00 p.m.  Both concerts will be held in the UHS Performing Arts Center.
