Urbandale High School is pleased to introduce Jon Schmitz as its next Head Boys Basketball Coach.

Schmitz comes to Urbandale after having led the Boys Basketball program at Fort Madison the last four seasons.  The last two seasons, the Hounds lost in the Substate Final following 21 and 19 win seasons.  Coach Schmitz was the Burlington Hawkeye Coach of the Year the last two seasons.

Fort Madison High School was recently honored as the Iowa Hall of Pride Challenge Community Service Award winner for the Boys' Basketball Teams work in hosting a community dinner last November.

Schmitz is a graduate of Simpson College and holds a Master of Arts in Educational Administration from Iowa State University.  He will teach in the Urbandale High School Science Department.
