The Urbandale Community School District's Board of Directors approved the hiring of Nick McCool as the 6^th Head Softball Coach in school history on Monday night.

McCool has served as an Assistant Coach for the J-Hawks the past three seasons, helping the J-Hawks to a top six finish in each season.  Prior to his arrival at Urbandale, McCool was the head Softball Coach at Iowa Valley from 2009-2012.  During that time, his teams went 71-65 and McCool was named the South Iowa Cedar League Coach of the Year in 2009 and 2010, winning the Conference title in each of those seasons.

McCool replaces Veronica Coy who left the program after five years to pursue interests outside the field of education.
