Schupbach Named Head Girls Track Coach

The Urbandale Community School District's Board of Directors approved the hiring of Brooke Schupbach as the 6th Head Girls Track Coach in school history on Monday night.

Schupbach is no stranger at Urbandale, having coached in the girls' program four of the past five seasons.  Inducted into the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union's Track and Field Hall of Fame, Schupbach had a storied high school career at North Tama High School in Traer, Iowa.  Schupbach helped lead her team to three consecutive state titles in 2006, 2007, and 2008, and earned 8 State Titles during her high school career.  She still holds the Class 1A record in the 800 Meter Run and the Distance Medley Relay.  Named the Iowa Gatorade Female Athlete of the Year in 2006, Schupbach went on to run collegiately at the University of Nebraska, helping the team win the 2011 Big 12 Indoor and 2012 Big 10 Indoor Championships; she was a two-time NCAA Preliminary round qualifier in the 800 Meter Run.

Schupbach replaces Randy Hutchison who resigned in June.
