The Urbandale J-Hawks (11-10, 4-8) were at Barton Field in Urbandale to take on the #2 Ankeny Centennial Jaguars (16-4, 9-2) on June 13, 2024 for a CIML conference matchup. Threats of rain were persistent as lightning was visible in the distance and rain was coming down at times. 

Sophomore Peyton Stewart (1-0, 2.10) got the start on the bump for Urbandale in the single varsity game. Iowa Hawkeye commit Joey Oakie started the offense for the Jaguars with a 3-run bomb in the top of the first. The J-Hawks countered with three of their own to tie it up. Then it was zeros for the next two innings until Ankeny Centennial struck for 3 in the 4th and 1 in the 5th. The J-Hawks tried to mount a rally in the 7th, scoring a run in a Wilbanks RBI double. It was too little, too late as the final score was 4-7. 

With the loss, the J-Hawks move to 11-11 on the season. Urbandale is scheduled to host Ames for a rain makeup tomorrow, June 14th.
