It's been a season of ups and downs for the J-Hawks Boys Tennis team, as they continue to battle through a challenging schedule while showing flashes of growth and grit along the way.
The team opened the season with an 8-3 loss to Mason City, but quickly regrouped for a solid 7-4 bounce-back win over Indianola. That early spark was tested with a 7-4 loss to Des Moines Lincoln, followed by a tough stretch including an 11-0 loss to Dowling Catholic and a 10-1 setback against Ballard.
The J-Hawks found their rhythm again with an impressive 8-3 win over Grinnell, but another top-tier opponent, Waukee Northwest, handed them a difficult 11-0 loss. Still, the team showed heart in a tightly contested 6-5 win over Ankeny Centennial, proving they can close out close matches. Most recently, they wrapped up their latest outing with a 7-4 loss to Dallas Center-Grimes.
While the results have varied, the J-Hawks are competing hard and gaining valuable experience that could pay off late in the season.
