Urbandale High School placed 3rd in the Bank Iowa Traveling Challenge Cup Competition for the 2015-2016 school year.

Introduced in 2007, the Bank Iowa Traveling Challenge Cup is a statewide competition designed to recognize Iowa high school students for academic excellence and outstanding achievement during state competitions, combining scores for academics, athletics, music, speech and debate.

Urbandale placed 3rd overall and 3rd in Class 4A this past year. This was the highest finish for Urbandale since the inception of the competition; the J-Hawks tied for 7th place during the 2014-2015 school year.
