Traynor Named Director of Strength and Conditioning

The Urbandale Athletic Department announced late Monday Pete Traynor has been named the Director of Strength and Conditioning at Urbandale High School.  Traynor’s role will be to serve as the point-person for all Strength and Conditioning Activities at Urbandale High School and within Urbandale Community Education.  He will manage the current Fitness Center while overseeing the transition to the new space in 2020.  He will begin work on May 14, 2018.

 

Traynor comes to Urbandale from Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa, where he currently serves as the Strength and Conditioning Coordinator for all sports and is an Assistant Football Coach.  Prior to Simpson, Traynor held several positions in the field of Strength and Conditioning and played professional Football in the NFL, NFL Europe, and the Arena Football League including a stint with the Iowa Barnstormers.

 

Traynor is a graduate of the University of Iowa where he was a three-year letterwinner in Football.  He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and holds a USA Weightlifting Level 1.

 

Traynor and his wife reside in Urbandale with their two children, both of whom are students in the District.
