2022 Frerichs' Scholarship Recipients Announced

The Urbandale Booster Club Frerichs’ Scholarship is presented in honor of Denny Frerichs, Football coach at Urbandale High School from 1967 to 1994.  The Urbandale Booster Club annually awards a one time, $500.00 scholarship.  Students are evaluated by a panel of individuals on their academic profile, involvement in high school athletics, involvement in community activities, and the recommendations of others.

 

On Friday night between Basketball games, the 2022 honorees were announced.

Ena Zerajic

The daughter of Neda Zerajic and Predrag Zerajic, Ena Zerajic is the 2022 Female Recipient of the Urbandale Booster Club, Frerichs’ Scholarship.  Ena is a member of the National Honor Society, the National Council on Youth Leadership, the Honor Roll, the Silver Cord Program, FCA, Emerging Leaders, and Team UHS.  She is a letterwinner in Volleyball and Track, where she placed 14th at the State Meet in 2021 in the Discus after claiming the Regional Tittle. Ena plans to attend Iowa State University in the fall where she intends to major in Biology or Biological Engineering.

Jackson Kluesner

Jackson Kluesner is the 2022 Male Recipient of the Urbandale Booster Club, Frerichs’ Scholarship Award.  Jackson is a three-time letterwinner in Wrestling and lettered once in Baseball; he participated in Golf.  He is a member of the National Honor Society and earned Academic All-Conference in three different sports.  Jackson is the son of Stacy and Corey Kluesner.  Jackson plans to attend college and play Baseball next fall.
