The Urbandale Booster Club annually awards one senior male and one senior female with a one time, $500 scholarship.  The check will be written in care of the student and their selected college or university.  Students are evaluated by a panel of individuals on their academic profile, involvement in high school athletics, involvement in community activities and the recommendation of others.

This award is presented in honor of Denny Frerichs, football coach at Urbandale High School from 1967 to 1994.
