The Urbandale High School Boys Cross Country team highlighted a glory-filled season with a state championship in the two-mile run.  Besides the second state title in three years, Coach Gayle Palmer’s team also brought home a second place finish in the one-mile run.  The team also added two conference championships and a team title in the Urbandale Invitational meet. 

Individually, seniors Mark Davis, Bruce Bornman, and Dave Steffen led the Bluejays.  Davis highlighted his cross-country season with a fifth-place finish in the Indianola Invitational.  Dave Steffen helped the team with a third-place finish in the one-mile at State, while Bruce Bornman capped his season with a tenth-place finish in the two-mile state.
