The Jayettes won 94% of their games with a 45-5 summer season record in the 1976 seasons.  The girls were sectional tournament champs, district runner-ups, Adel Invitational consolation winners, Urbandale Invitational runner-ups, and Waukee Invitational champs.  All these victories led them to a second place finish in the CIC.  Their fall season ended with the state championship and a 24-0 record.

All-State softball honors included Jean Dickson, Mary Bartusek, Kim Wright, Carol Sinn, Jackie Olson, Cindy Elings, Cindy Dennis, and Carmie Jackson.  Pitcher, Kim Wright and catcher, Carol Sinn were named to the summer’s softball all-state team.

In their last season were seniors Cindy Elings, Cindy Dennis, Carmie Jackson, and Jackie Olson.
