Urbandale High School Theatre Arts Presents

Brother Wolf

Blending folklore, myth, bluegrass music and mountain religion, this Appalachian adventure tale is based on the story of Beowulf. This production hits the stage at Urbandale High School April 27th-29th, 2018 with curtain times at 7:00pm with a matinee on April 28th at 2pm and an additional matinee April 29th at 2pm. You can purchase tickets 1 hour prior to curtain the night of the show at the Urbandale High School Performing Arts Center, 7111 Aurora Ave., Urbandale, IA 50322. Intended for audiences ages 10 and over.

High in the mountains of North Carolina, The Speerdane family is threatened by a demon named Grin Dell. When a preacher named Brother Wolf arrives to lend a hand, the death of the demon sets off a cycle of revenge that can only be stopped by learning to forgive.

Urbandale High School Drama presents Brother Wolf, featuring direction by Shaun Knapp with music direction by Gavin Gallegos, and choreography by Lauren Vickers. With music and lyrics by Laurelyn Dossett, book by Preston Lane, and based off of the story of Beowulf, audiences are sure to be captivated by the traditional folk and bluegrass music that accompanies this dark musical rendition of the tale of love, faith, revenge and forgiveness.  The show is presented through special arrangement with Playscripts, Inc. Tickets may be purchased 1 hour prior to the start of the performance outside the Performing Arts Center.
