Bouska, Morrison Named to All-Iowa Honor Dance Team

Kaitlyn Bouska and Jaida Morrison.

Like everything else this year, auditions for the 2021 All Iowa Honor Dance Team looked different. Last fall dancers from across the state signed up to try out for the team. The girls received two routines which they learned, performed, videotaped and submitted for their audition. Because of the pandemic and restrictions, the number of girls to make the team had to be reduced and the announcement of the team was delayed until January.

We are very excited that Kaitlyn Bouska, a senior and fourth year Jaywalker, and Jaida Morrison, a junior and first year Jaywalker were selected from hundreds of other dancers and will be representing Urbandale on the honor team. This team of elite dancers will join together in Hyvee Hall on February 22, 2021, where they will spend all day learning, practicing, performing then recording the All-Iowa Honor Dance routine. The routine is typically performed during the Girls State Basketball Championships at half time, but due to these uncertain times is being recorded and will be shown Saturday, March 6, 2021, on the big screen and will air on IPTV during the championship game that day.
