Coach Hardersen is new to coaching at the high school level and thankful for the opportunity to be a positive impact on others.  He has coached club basketball for 6 years at a variety of levels prior to joining the Urbandale program.  Jon played basketball at Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa scoring 950 points and grabbing 400 rebounds prior to a career ending knee injury.  “My coaching career started the day I suffered that injury as my contribution to the team drastically shifted from player to a coaching role as the team rallied to make the Elite Eight of the NAIA National Tournament.”  Jon hopes to bring his past experiences to help enhance the culture of the program.  “Play fast, be unselfish, compete hard, and have fun…it’s as simple as that.”
