All-State Chorus auditions were held October 21st, at Le Mars, Hampton, Independence, Atlantic, Indianola, and Washington. 17 students from Urbandale High School auditioned. The selection process is very competitive, with approximately 17% of auditionees being selected for membership in the 600-member ensemble. It is the highest individual honor a student can receive from the Iowa High School Music Association. This year’s All-State Music Festival takes place in Ames November 16th-18th.
Urbandale students who audition for the Iowa All-State Chorus undertake a rigorous process of small group rehearsals, study with private teachers, multiple mock auditions, and hours of individual practice time. The following 17 Urbandale students should be applauded for their dedication and exceptional representation of themselves and their community.
