A pair of J-Hawks participated in the 2023 IGHSAU State Wrestling Tournament on Thursday, February 2, 2023. 

At 135 pounds, Ella Anliker went 1-1 in the first session with a decision over Cecilia Scarff (SE Polk) and a loss by fall to Dakota Whitman (Independence). 

Anliker went on to beat Maggie Wagner (Anamosa) in the 2nd round of the consolation bracket by fall in 5:04.  She then beat Maddy Jansen of South Winneshiek 11-7.

She will wrestle Cadence Bushong of WDM Valley on Friday morning.

At 235, Martina Kovalcikova went 0-2 with losses to Olivia Huckfelt (Spencer) and McKenna Broadhead (Denver). Kovalcikova closes out the inaugural season of sanctioned Girls' Wrestling as a State Qualifier.
